A Beautiful Day for a Wedding in WNC
Hi all! I know the holidays are fast approaching and we all have a lot to do, but I wanted to take a brief moment to describe a wedding I attended yesterday in Western North Carolina. Though I did not teach yoga there, it was an example of a curated micro-wedding like the type I teach at.
I have a dear friend who I’ve known for about 5 years, since when she moved to our area to call Western North Carolina home. About a year and a half ago, she met the man that she would marry. They met online, which is a common story for modern couples.
As her mother said in her toast, my friend and her now-husband are very compatible. My friend is one of the most joyful people I know; she always has a smile on that lights up a room.
Here I am with the bride showing off her megawatt smile.
Her now-husband is more subdued, and they seem to balance each other so well.
The wedding was held at Magnolia Grace Farms in Rutherford County, North Carolina. This is one example of the many excellent wedding venues in Western North Carolina, and is so named for the beautiful magnolia tree where the bride and groom said their vows.

The couple decided to have a small, curated wedding, sometimes called a micro-wedding. Micro-weddings are small, intimate celebrations with typically less than 50 guests. It is basically a smaller version of a traditional wedding, and may not include elements like a full traditional wedding party.
This is just the type of wedding that I love to teach yoga at in Western North Carolina. Often couples choose our area with the intention of intimate, curated wedding experiences. If you want a wedding full or heart and character, there are so many venues to choose from.
One such beautiful venue that I have had the pleasure of teaching at is Whiskey Rock in Barnardsville, North Carolina. Please see my blog “Grounded & Glowing: Yoga to Start Your Wedding Day Right” for more details of the wedding at this venue in June 2025 where I taught yoga. Whiskey Rock is a luxury estate & retreat center set on 50 acres at the edge of the mountains and Pisgah National Forest. For more details and to book this venue, click here. Add wedding morning yoga to make it a truly unique experience for your guests!
